Just arrived in McLeod Ganj (aka Dharamsala), home of the Dali Lama and lots of other Tibetans in exile. Think we will like it here...mountain fresh air, nice restaurants, tibetan cooking classes, good shopping and loads of films to watch. the new age phase is over, bring on the materialism! quite an eventful journey. We got the sleeper train from rishikesh. it was due to get at our stop at 4.30am, but it was an hour early. we were fast asleep, but a nice turkish lady woke us up just in time. the train started to take off and all 3 of us had to jump from the moving train onto the train track (no platform). landed in a big heap of faeces, half asleep and not even sure if we got the right station... ha!
