Its my last day in New Zealand today so I thought I'd round up whats happened on the South Island. The main highlight was seeing the Franz Josef and Fox glaciers up close, and actually going for a hike on the Franz josef glacier, which was awesome, and not as cold as you'd think. We got to go climbing through ice caves and stuff, as well as trecking right up into the heart of the glacier where the ice is blue! The general scenery in the South Island is just incredible. In Franz Josef village, you wake up in the morning, step outside the hostel and theres the most amazing views of glaciers and snow topped mountains just when you lift up your head. I also went to Queenstown, the "adrenaline and parrty capital of New Zealand" which lived up to its name reasonably well. In Queenstown they've also got a burger place called Fergburger which sell the best burgers in the entire world, and I'm not exaggerating! They're so big that when I bought the biggest one they sell I had to save half and it ended up being two filling meals out of one burger! Its 8 days till I get to Bangkok now, I cant wait but its a bit nerve-wrecking now. But first a week in Sydney, which is apparently one of the best cities in the world, so that should be kool too.
