You come to Mendoza to do many things, but first on any list is going to be a wine tour. About 40 minutes south of the city is a place called Maipu where there is a cluster of ten or so wineries, a beer garden, a chocolate and absinthe factory (a weird combination - I wonder do they mix the two?) and an olive oil producer. Another overnight bus took us Mendoza AKA wine country. We checked into our hostel and over the next few days we realised that it was a crap hostel. The staff were rude ("My boss isn't here so I'm just going to lie on the couch - don't bother me with questions"), the music was blared into the TV room, the pool was green and the roof leaked.
