Ok, so who's ready for a mammoth update and apologies in advance I am using an EVEN worse keyboard that usual so this might be the height of unreadability!!(currently the space bar is the most temperamental thing in the world)
So last day in ho chi min was spent wandering around markets, visitng doctors, eating good food and then going out drinking in the evening, went thru three days with only four hours sleep, not quite sure how i managed that considering iam supposed to be onholiday!Anyway, got the 730 bus from ho chi min city to the seaside resort of Mui Ne with my two friends, kev from portsmouth and kieran from ireland and after four hours on the most uncomfortable bus...mainly cos we were sat right at the back above the engine and it was baking, we fianlly got to mui ne
let me put it this way, it was 34 degrees, bright sun and a white sandy beach with warm greeny blue waters (ok so teh water wasnt like the caribbeanbut it was hot and clear!).so that first day was only like three hours in the sea, then we wandered around town...really did NOT take long but its weird, cos where normal towns are like a ball of string representing roads, all linking with each other, this one is like unstrund around te beach, so there isonly one street in the town and it stretches for 11km!so addresses are basically measured in km from the start!weird!so we get to a bar to watch the football, u can see how excited i am about this, yay,two football matchces back to back, ahem.but the lads love it!
was v weirtd bar, to be fair its off season in this town so not many people and there were threeother men inthis bar which was brand new, pristine pool table, chess, darts, table tewnnis, everything, but it was all unused and v quiet.was like a show house u know.and the barman was really up his arse saying youhad to buy a drink to use any facilities, even ifyouwerent thirtsy, and he was anal about changing the channel when later we were the ONLY people in there!!
Left there eventually after lots of pool (kieran and kev r on a mission to make me decent at pool....good luck!!) and went to the opening night of the bar next to our guesthouse.oh and lets talk about this guesthouse...its four dollars each (two quid) to share this room (just the threeof us) with own bathroom and hot water etc, right on the beach with sea views.amazing!our own private bungalow! so yeah, bar next door was having openingnight, free drink so we went
and got drunk
v drunk.seiously guys i was wasted!we met two irish girls and spent the night with them onthebeach outside the bar and got drunker and drunker.
kept noddingoff one after the other and waking up since we had so little sleep then eventually got kickedout at half two and went to thebeachoutside out own guesthouse and promptly collapsed top wait for sunrise over the sea.got woken up at 5 by one of the irish girls who had been waiting for the sunrise and talking to kev and we all watched the start but then jsut wandered to out beds, after falling asleep outside and waiting all that time!we were just toooo drunk!
woke up vaguely ealry the next day at 11 and literally spent the dayon the baech and sea swimming and playing ball (kev had cool ball which bounchedonwater three times faster than you threw it so much runniong after it!)
was v weird because hundreds of dead little fish on the beach all the time ad we didnt know why.after our dawn experience we know its because the fisherman come in and loads offish spill fromthe nets.but we thoughtthe water was poisoned the first day!!
then kev and i wandered up the beach and found a group of charming vietnamese children who loved our ball and us.we played catch and football with them for an hour and a half, they were sooo cute, ranging from 5 to ten years old!was v sad we couldnt give the ball but it was kevs only one and a speical one he couldnt really replace.v annoying, was so sad leaving them, at least they had fun tho!
went back to thebar later that nite for a more restrained night and this morning i spent a couple of hours on the sea before catching abus to Nha Trang which is six hours upthe coast.kev and kieran will be here tomoro or the day after but iam on sucha tight schedule to get to malaysia i dont think ill see them
gothere few hours ago and already booked a trip tomoro to go island hopping on a boat with alcohol, lunch and snorlelling, then catching overnight 13 hour bus to hoi an in ccentral vietnam whereiwill get my suit tailored write next blog.
oh by the way im v tanned already from these last few days!yay!!!!
love and hugs!
PS theres a music shop here where ive (maybe sillyly) left my ipod overnight andthey will upload four latest albums on it for three quid; killers, kooks, muse and snow patrol!awesome!lets hope iget the ipod back!
