We are at the second campsite on a spit of land sticking out into the river. A short walk from the site is a tiny ferry seating no more than four waiting to take people across the river to Prague. There's no hanging around - you approach the ferry, the ferryman gets up and holds the boat against the bank and in you get. A smidgin of agility is required. Instead of Sadov we have chosen a site within easy walking distance of Carlsbad. 'Site' perhaps creates an impression that we are in a grander place than the reality. True, there are toilets - in a shed but nevertheless clean and functional, and there is electricity but the only European socket available has been nabbed by one of the three Netherlands vans we have as neighbours. 16/5/2013. We always seem to supermarket-shop on a "Diet" day, when we try to eat less than 600 kcal and don't drink alcohol. Oh well... Shopped at Globus, a huge supermarket with everything from mopeds and scooters to safety pins. An attractive little town mainly closed on a Saturday afternoon. Had a glass of wine and shared a salami baguette. In this part of Germany a glass of wine is 25cl - a third of a bottle - no less, no more. We are here because we were narrowly beaten to the last remaining space on the Stellplaatz at Amberg.
