We set off this morning full of ambivalence. Excited about the adventure ahead, but nervous about leaving all we knew behind....and having to put up with each other for six months!! The reality of the situation only really hit me when the plane left the ground and we saw Brisbane (and later in the flight, Australia) left far behind.

However, in catering for the entertainment needs of their passengers, Etihad Airways helped to take our mind off the scary stuff with their ground cameras and multitude of games, movies and music.

We settled in for our long flight, eager for what was ahead.
