Hi everyone!
We have done a lot of travelling since my last update. After looking round the ruins at Tulum, we travelled down to Xhetumal and across the border by boat into Belize at Caye Caulker. Stayed there for 3 days. It wad such a relaxed island! There was a bar at the end of the island called the lazy lizard bar, you could get ice cold buckets of beer and sit on the seats in the sea. Met lots of people at our hostel. After getting some fresh whole lobster for £8, we went snorkelling out by the barrier reef where we saw sting rays, nurse sharks and barracuda. You could dive down with the snorkel mask right up against the coral walls and see what was hiding in them. Even saw some moray eels and lobster! After caye caulker we travelling south so Placencia, not much there. Meant to be really nice beaches but ive seen better! We were travelling with a kiwi guy called Chris who we met in caye caulker. Decided to move down to punta gorda and cross into Guatemala via Livingston. It was weird crossing into countries via boat! It is so so cheap here! Got a boat up the rio dulce which was cool, lots of rainforest and gorges either side of the river. The hostel at rio dulce was right on the river. Spent the night there then got a bus to Flores! Horrible bus journey, old American bus which sounded like it could give up any minute. Plus a psychopathic bus driver who loved overtaking on blind corners!! Ah well, Flores is a nice little town on the river. Very gringo though that's not a bad thing!
Going round the Maya ruins of Tikal tomorrow morning, meant to be spectacular! Biggest Mayan city too.
Thats all for now.
