re: Palembang, IndonesiaHolandyah That's great, Paul. We learn many things from your visit in Palembang. We need to learn more from you especially on how to conduct an effective and innovative second language teaching in a classroom process.

re: Palembang, IndonesiaDorothy Loving the travel updates, Paul! I haven't been to Bali for... 13 years? something like that. Eager to go again. Yemen & YALI say hi!
re: Bali, IndonesiaCary In Pontianak, you will have good Internet access. You might walk some distance to an Internet cafe, but once there, broadband connection will be available easily in the form of wi-fi. In the rest of Kalimantan...maybe not :)
re: Palembang, IndonesiaJulianne The post captivated me with its honesty and candidness. I can understand your disappointment in not being able to fully make use of your skills and experience at your host university because of the apparent lack of interest and ability in English. Have you mentioned to George that you are really interested in doing some outreach in other parts of Indonesia? If not, definitely bring it up at mid-year. I'm sure there will be a handful of opportunities next semester.
re: Palembang, IndonesiaFritz Keppler Hey Paul! Been following your messages with interest and keeping Mike informed, too. Later on today I'm heading to California for a Brokie get-together. By train! 4 days there and three days back, two weeks in total. Sorry that things aren't working there quite as you'd like, but glad that things aren't as bad as you first thought they might be. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
re: Palembang, IndonesiaJulianne I'm sure you'll be very happy with your new Teflon frying pan. Sounds like a good investment! Last year I bought a small oven as well. I used it to make cookies :-)
re: Palembang, IndonesiaJulianne Kudos to you for doing an impromptu talk in front of 1000 people and not appearing fazed at all! Good luck with your talk on Friday!
re: Palembang, IndonesiaMichael Kelley Sounds like a lovely Lebaran—I very much miss such festivities and I can't wait to get there to enjoy the next one!
re: Pa Lembang ( place and to pan for gold ), IndonesiaJulianne Reynolds Welcome to Indonesia, Paul! I'm glad you seem to be liking Sumatra and taking everything from the stares to the air quality in Palembang in stride. You're off to a good start!
