So it's my turn to write a journal entry, and since Paul's was so detailed and I can't compete, so I'm going to write some lists about our time in Tokyo!
While in Tokyo we:
- Used a squat toilet
- Ate raw fish (tuna, salmon,
- Ate eel
- Used toilets with heated seats
- Ate liver and other 'essential organs' in a stew
- Ate at a chinese restaurant
- Saw the emporer
Just incase you care:
- My fave Japanese beer is Sapporo
- Paul can't read maps anymore (he blames it on being in the northern hemisphere)
- Taxi's have their side mirrors on the bonnet
- Taxi drivers open the rear doors electronically for the passenger
- Japanese people don't wear sunglasses
- Macca's has a mega mac which has 4 beef patties
- They don't have salt and pepper, it's salt and chilli
- The work hours are crazy, everytime we were on the train there were businessmen commuting
So that's about it for Tokyo. Oh except Paul just told me I need to list off some of the other places we went while we were there. So the Tsukiji Fish Market (unfortunately it was one of the 2 days a month it's closed! But we went to the shops nearby for some sashimi), Imperial Palace Gardens, Odaiba (we caught a train here but it was more like a monorail and gave a great view of the area), Palette Town (in Odaiba, this was where the ferris wheel was and a big Toyota interactive showroom), Sony Building, Electric Street in Shinjuku (this area was amazing with the neon lights!).
