Paul & Linda's International Adventures
Hello All,
Sorry for the lack of postcards! We've been very busy lately - this time not with travelling or tours, but that dreaded and long avoided intruder into our life of leisure - WORK!!!
At present I am working in the corporate headquaters of a bank (where I am sneakily writing this while I should really be getting on with a bit of graft!) which is quite mundane but pays much better than hospitality work and leaves the weekends and evenings free. Can't say I'm loving the corporate lifestyle though. These people work so bloody hard - I don't think they ever go home.
Paul is working as a labourer with a top aussie bloke called Ben which he is enjoying. As a positive side effect he is becoming quite a toned and lithe young thing - maybe I should make a career change too!
Still staying in the same house. Have been trying to be good and go off up the coast on the weekend to see the sights, but it keeps bloody raining! Consequently we've been mainly hanging around in central Brisbane where there is plenty to keep us out of mischief (or lead us into it). This weekend the sun did actually put in an appearance and so we headed down to the park with a crew from our hostel for a dodgeball/frisbee/football/rugby all in one tournament followed by our weekly BBQ n booze fest. We also passed through that rite of passage that is our first visit to a peep show! Our hostel mate Matt is currently employed by the 'Tropical Gentleman's Club' and was kind enough to give us a guided tour of his workplace. At a dollar for 2 minutes, Paul just couldn't walk on by the booths, but I got in touch with my inner prude and took a rain check on the full frontal nudity.
I always believe on leaving things on a high point, so I'll sign off here.
Will post a new message when we actually have some news! Look out for a photy update in the next few days.
Lots of Love,
Linda & Paul
