Paul & Linda's International Adventures
Hello All,
It's about that time that we let you know what we've been up to over the past few weeks!
After crossing over to the mainland from Baja California, we worked our way through the colonial towns of Mazatlan, Durango, Zacatecas and Guanajuato. All of them share the kind of architecture that puts us to shame and are packed full of museums and theatres etc... So we were good little tourists for a couple of weeks and visited all of the places that our Lonely Planet told us to.. including some mayan ruins, a former mine that had a nightclub in it, some of the old filmsets from cowboy and indian movies, and a museum full of mummified corpses, freshly dug up from the graveyard - pregnant mummy, unborn mummy, mummy in suit, baby mummy with broomstick! You name it, they had it! Very tasteful!
So, having ticked a few of the cultural boxes, we figured we'd earned the right to have a bit of a loaf on the beach, so after a 7 hour bus journey with the most self righteous American in the world chewing our ears off (not fun), we have washed up on the shores of the Oaxaca coast.
We've got ourselves a room overlooking the beach (and the saggy scrotumed nudists),complete with hammocks on the balcony, and intend to chill here for a bit while we plan the next stage of our trip futher south and into Guatemala.
Hope everyone back home is ok.
Lots of love,
Linda and Paul
