Our first night at Hamelin Station provided us with a quiet night of sleep, although we were kept company by the bleating of sheep early in the morning. The sheep did have some competition with a couple of hundred Galahs and numerous other birds, so at least we were up early. There are worse ways to wake up than to the calls of native birds.
