Hi again!!
Stuarts Point...we like it so much we're reluctant to move on! We've had dolphins swim right past us, Paul has had a great time fishing, we've enjoyed being on the beach, and it's slowly getting quieter in the park as everyone goes back to work and the kids will soon be back at school...then it will be quiet...ahhhhh....we knew it would be a bit crazy on the coast at this time of year, but it's probably been better than we expected...or we're getting more tolerant!
This morning will probably be Paul's highlight....I was walking past a blokes caravan when he advised me to be careful as there is a red bellied black snake in the rocks by the water....so now I was going to have to tell Paul...and he would have to catch it...So back to our camp I went and told Paul...and in the time it takes Superman to suit-up, he had the snake gear out of the car, socks and boots on, and was over looking for the snake...which was only about 20 metres from our campsite. After lifting a few big rocks up, he found the snake coiled up in his not-so-good hiding spot, and was trying to drag him out. The snake, mind you, had other ideas, and buried its head under some more rocks, presumably tying itself to something under there, for all the difficulty Paul had in getting him to let go. And he wasn't happy...he had flattened his whole body out like someone had put him through a pasta making machine. By now we had a crowd of onlookers, eager to see if the snake (who was in their prime fishing position) had been caught. It seemed like half the park was there. When the snake finally lost its grip, and just before its head was almost pulled clean of its body, with Paul still hanging on tightly to its tail end, it started to flick around all over the place, and really let everyone know how pi$$ed off it was. Hissing and biting at the air (in Pauls direction of course) it made a song and dance of the whole affair before losing the battle and being dropped into a waiting pillow case. Check out the video...you can see what fun it was!! One of the onlookers filmed it on her phone, but unfortunately didn't get the first part of getting it out of the rocks. We released it not long after; the old bloke at the closest caravan to where it was caught told Paul he'll shout him a beer; the same guys' wife was ecstatic she wasn't around for any of it (slight snake phobia...) and thanked Paul over and over (all the time not realising Paul only did it for the fun of it, and not for them ) and everyone in the park is safe again!
We might stay here a few more days before heading a little further up the coast.
Hope you are all well, thanks for checking in on us!
