After a quick flight from Hungary to Treviso and a 35 min bus ride we arrived at Piazza Roma. To get to out hotel we jumped on the water bus and took it to Rialto bridge. We weaved our way through all the little lane ways and made it to our hotel we were on the third floor with no lifts so we all got a work up climbing up and down the steep stairs. The hotel room had great views of the canal and so within minutes of arriving we were all hanging out the windows watching gondolas go by and hearing opera singing ! We dumped our bags and walked down to San Marco square which was busy and bustling as ever with bands playing jazz and pigeons galore.
We had some beautiful antipasto and caprese salad for dinner and walked around a bit.
We decided to walk to the ghetto which was great but took a little longer then we thought as we got a little lost,it was a great way to go exploring, once we arrived we took a fantastic tour of the old synagogues and they was fascinating to learn about all the history.
The highlight of the day was taking a gondola ride at dusk it was very special and we all loved it.
