Unbelievably we all slept again! We got up and headed back to the little brasserie from yesterday and did the same drill of coffee, croissants and people watching. That can get addicting!
Today we are heading to Normandy, where we will see the Landing Beaches, see Mont St Michel and enjoy lots of the Normandy "4 C's": Crepes, Cream, Cider and Camembert. Aimee and I headed out to get the rental car, which ended up being a mini-adventure in itself, that included a long walk, a rental desk that moved another mile away and a taxi ride. We finally picked up the car, learned how to work the GPS and navigated our way back to the flat where Kim and Ken had packed up and had our bags ready and waiting.
We set the GPS for Normandy and braved the Parisian traffic, successfully circumventing the Arch de Triomphe with the crazy massive traffic circle. I only needed one pass around to get to the right exit off the circle, which to me, is always a miracle. Our GPS was taking us a very different path, and one that I wasn’t entirely sure where we were going. I have made this drive many times, and the route was very unfamiliar, which meant very uncomfortable. However, we kept on the course and eventually ended up in beautiful rolling French farmland hills and small villages.
Two hours later, we arrived in Honfluer a beautiful little French town that looks like something out of a fairy tale book. We had a crepe and cider lunch at one of the oldest restaurant in town (think 1600’s) and wandered around the cool shops and alleys. We stocked up on evening picnic supplies, chocolate, pastries and wine before heading to our Normandy farm-stay, Le Mas Normand for the next two nights.
As much as we had walked the past two days, today was mostly spent in the car. So lots of time to give our feet a rest before getting back to the walking tomorrow. We arrived in the little town of Ver su Mer, where our hosts Mylene and Grenade (beautiful golden retriever) were waiting for us. This is my third time staying with Mylene, and the peaceful setting with birds and flowers is a nice change from the craziness of Paris.
Ken and I took a walk down to the beach and walked along the shore of the Atlantic ocean to get a bit of fresh air after the drive. When we got back to the farmhouse, we set up a picnic in the breakfast room of amazing French cheese, bread, grapes and wine. Kim, Aimee, Ken and I laughed and enjoyed the evening before heading to bed.

Marty Once again enjoyed reading about your trip. Acomodations and 4 Cs appear to be fantastic. Safe travels home
