With all of the exercise, we both slept really well. Of course it helps that it is PITCH black out and totally silent, something that we don't experience living in a big city. Ken decided to check the time (no clocks) and found it was almost 8am...wait a minute 8am?? Did we sleep through our morning wake-up knock??? So, we got moving so as to not be late for breakfast.
Since we had learned that the granola/hot cereal is a precursor to the real food, we proceeded with a bit more caution. Our selection for this morning was a vegi frittata, potato pancakes and bacon and all very good. They also put out the lunch fixings, so we packed up a small snack bag for the trip back down the mountain. We relaxed for a bit, then packed up, said our good-byes to our new friends and the staff and headed to the trail.
The trail was so much easier than what we experienced on the day before and we were down to the bikes within an hour. Then the fun part! As hard as it was riding up, we flew down the 7.5 miles, passing our fellow guests (who were walking) on the way. I am a bit tentative on getting going to fast going downhill, but even I got into it and wasn't too far behind Ken (he was flying down). We made it all the way down in about an hour, which was a huge change from the way up!
We loaded the bikes in the car and decided to stop past Banff for a quick bike ride by the falls. There were massive tourists at the falls, so we didn't stay long. But did do a several mile ride around the golf-course which had beautiful views of the mountains and river. By the time we got back to the car, we were both exhausted and ready for a break. After dropping the car off, we were back on the road to Calgary.
That evening we had a nice dinner with one of Ken's colleagues from URS/Flint and his wife. It was a great way to end an amazing weekend! Next up...Ken back to work tomorrow and I am flying out at 630am to Toronto for work, then both back to Houston Thursday night.
Next up: Kauai!!

Don Okay, you are having way to much fun. Jealous!!!! Thanks for the pictures and commentary, good job as Ken is a man of few words so hearing about it from you I get the real info. Welcome back to the USA.
jlb43409 I am laughing about the "man of few words"...never thought of him that way! Need to dinner in the near future...
