Today we were heading back to civilisation aka San Diego.
We drove through the desert to a diet of 1980s rock which seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I was seriously missing a horse called Chilli too.
As normal, the drive included a brief birding detour, this time to the visitor centre of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It was a place I'd…
Let me be the first to admit it...my husband is a birdwatcher.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. It means I get to go to some incredible spots around the globe. Granted this does sometimes include backyard culverts in India and ice covered car parks in Japan but hey, at least it gets me out and about.
I've been off the travel blogging grid for a while so I figure it's time to get back in the saddle. We've booked the long awaited return to Brazil for March 2016 so watch this space...

I'm pretty relaxed when it comes to food and will eat most things - as unfortunately my waistline will contest. The fish crackers dished up for our early breakfast however, pushed even my limi…
Finally my first lie in of the trip and it was worth the wait. It was followed by a visit to IHOP for breakfast and that was pretty damn good too. Treated self to a stack of cinnacakes - sinfu…

I was absolutely rapt. I wish I was there. I love mangroves, particularly in the hurricane season or should I say cyclone?

Have a fabulous time - and if you just happen to see a Florida fridge magnet (sure there will be a cheesy car reg plate-esk 'Florida - the Sunshine State' type somewhere!) then..............please !!!? See you upon your return with tales of alligator adventures.

Your jeep trip sounded quite interesting spoting a hawk eagle scoffing a peacock. I can symapathise with Marks quick service at the park office. They must have been taking lessons from some Caribbean customs and immigration officers. Arrive on a cruiseliner you get barely a glance. Arrive on a small boat and you are treated with callous suspicion requiring as many delays as they can conjour up.

So far so good, but two trips into the venison eating tiger country and no sightings. I can only conclude that the conservationists are not doing their job properly.
