1st Oct Today we arrived in La Paz. This is a huge city at the bottom of a valley. The surrounding hillsides are covered with houses. At night, from our hotel, the view is stunning. We went to a lookout today but went the wrong way. We ended up taking a local bus but we had no idea where the bus was going. We ended up on the top of the hill in a place where tourists don't go. 26th Sept Sucre We all love this place - so much to see and do but we have to leave on the 30th on the night bus. None of us are looking forward to this as it's a local bus and the drivers have been known to drink and drive at the same time which is bad anyway but if you could see the road we have to take it just drops off 200 metres at times .

24th Sept Potosi Uyuni to Potosi is a six hour drive. We could have taken a public bus but this one would stop for the loo or if anyone was sick. It only cost another US$2 each. For 6 hours we drove, and in all that time we never went on a road. I thought the desert crossing was bad but this was unbelievable. The dust was so bad that you had to cover your mouth and nose.
