Ozygurus: Family of Four
Hello Australia; especially our teachers and friends in Class 2B and Prep A at Wilston State School. This is our first Kids blog entry. A blog is a space on the computer where we can place information and you can read it. You will hopefully be able to look at some small videos we recorded as well. We have been away from Australia for one month and we have five more months to go. We spent our first ten days in Istanbul in a country called Turkey which lays half in Asia and half in Europe. The Turkish people love children and we were very popular and saw lots of fascinating things. We then flew to Stuttgart in Germany where we bought our motorhome which has bunk beds for both of us children and from our car seats we can see outside through a huge window while we play on our big table. We went to the Mercedes Benz car museum and the zoo in Stuttgart. We drove up into the mountains called the Black Forest (called this because there is a large dark canopy). We stayed in a lovely little town called Schiltach (pronounced: shill-tarhhc) where we went to some museums as well as the annual fair. We saw a great big teddy bear floating down the river and it got stuck on some rocks - we videoed it for you. The owner came and got it later in the day. We learnt about water wheels that make energy from the flowing river and also how the people used to float big log rafts down the river to the Rhine. After this we went to a model train museum with miniature landscapes of places we had been to in the Black Forest. We are now staying in Kehl on the Rhine River in south-west Germany and France is on the other side of the river. We have been able to buy second hand bikes for our holiday and we always stay in great caravan parks with play grounds and lots of places to ride our bikes and play soccer. Today we will drive into Strasbourg, a big city in France and tomorrow we are going to meet up with a family our parents have know for a long time and play with the three boys. Next we will holiday downstream along the Rhine River. We will probably go south to Italy or Spain after that. We miss you and are thinking of you. Love from Macayle and Dylan Guerin (PS. Enjoy your upcoming camping day for 2B. PSS. Therese - could you please print this off for Prep A.)
