Many of these tracks were hard going especially on a road bike. I spent most of my riding time in survival mode ie concentrate on one thing...the ruts rocks and sand in front of me. We took regular breaks to rally round and take in the scenery as it was difficult to appreciate the beauty of these landscapes whilst trying to remain upright.
