This morning we enjoyed a couple of further spectacular walks around the Blue Mountain look out spots. Roger took advantage of a daggy bush dunny but I preferred to keep my legs crossed! This arvo (afternoon for you Poms) we pushed on towards Hunter Valley through deserted roads and beautiful countryside, We broke our journey for a flat white at the Gum Tree Café at Boggy Swamp Creek, which was filled with Bogans and a bit intimidating.
Actually saw our first kangaroos in a field by the side of the road! Hunter Valley is the top wine growing region and we are looking to invest in a few bottles en route. So far the only label I have recognised is Rosemont Estate.
Don't expect any sympathy but it has rained steadily all day today. Didn't spoil the drive but do hope it brightens up by the time we return to the coast. Hopefully the Queensland tornados and floods will be over by the time we get there!
Rog is still getting to grips with the automatic car and I have had a few close encounters with the windscreen when he has gone to use the clutch!
Tomorrow we will head for the coast at Nelson Bay and depending on the weather will either stay there or press on further north.
