So we slept in this morning. Dragged ourselves out of bed about 7:30...
Packed up and then headed to the camel farm to purchase a last minute souvenir. Then hit the road. Destination is Kings Canyon. Took us 2hrs to get to the turn off and then Kings Canyon was 166km down that road. Just before the canyon we stopped off at Kings Canyon Station, where there were camels along with food and a gift shop. We found camel burgers on the menu - and yes they are tasty!
We have been looking everywhere for an ice cream called Wagon Wheels - any place that stocks them has run out!
Anyway we finally made it to Kings Canyon. There was a 3-4hr walk to the Garden of Eden however we didn't have that much time so we took the hour return walk to the canyon floor. It's safe to say that we were disappointed with what we found. Admittedly there is a Canyon there, but very little wildlife. A few birds, ants and two dragonflies. Nothing really to write home about. No snakes/spiders/kangaroos or anything. In fact we haven't see a live kangaroo! After we got to the end of the track we headed back to the campervan - lucky if it was a half hour walk. Then I had to drive the 166km back to the turn off. A lovely long excursion.
In total drove 8hrs today, unsure how many actual kms. Give me a moment and I can work it out. 800kms today

Natasha You win some, you lose some. All part of the adventure. Eating kangaroo, camel... looking for alligator? :) Hope today is filled with less driving and more fun.
