St Michaels Mount in Cornwall has been in the Levan family since the 17th century and they still live at the castle along with about 30 staff who live and look after the Island. There is also a church dating back to 1135.

This morning, after a late start due to last nights late arrival, we walked into Falmouth and up and around Pendennis Castle. Falmouth is on the coast and has a ship building/repair industry. Tourism would be a big industry. This afternoon we are going to Lands End and Penzance.

After leaving Taunton at about 3:30pm we drove to Plymouth. Dianne met her Second Cousin Rosemary and her husband Robbie for the first time. We went to the pub for a drink and Rosemary filled Dianne in on family history from the Somerset and Devon. We left Plymouth until about 9:30 pm and headed for Falmouth where we had accommodation booked arriving at 12:15am. We stopped on the way for a bit to eat at an Indian restaurant. Time for bed!!

The Great Western Railway took us from Worthing to Taunton this morning. No problems on this train but most of the Southern Rail services to Taunton were delayed or cancelled. We had a very helpful taxi driver who took us from Taunton Train Station to Europcar where we collected a Ford Focus for our 3 day trip to Cornwall. A week has passed since we arrived in the UK. We caught the train to Chichester, a Cathedral town that dates back over 1000 years. About 4 stops into the journey the train pulled into a station and an announcement came over the PA that the train was terminating at the station due to a lack of Conductors!!
