We got a night bus from Santa Cruz to Sucre, the bus was like a 1970s run down school bus but I suppose you cant really complain when you pay £6 for a 15 hour journey. Arrived in Sucre at 7am, went to our hostel where we spent one night before starting our week long Spanish lessons. We had to be up bright and early as lessons started at 8:30am and lasted 4 hours each day. After our first lesson we got to meet the family who we were staying with, dropped our bags at the house and went to have lunch with the whole family, 18 of them, of which they knew very little english, was very daunting for us. We just smiled and eat our not so tasty food! We managed to stay the house for 3 days with no heating or hot water, but i finally broke as I was ill and jus needed a good wash. We checked into a hostel which was the standard of a hotel (private room, hot water & satellite tv). The next few days were spent going to school, doing homework and trying to get better. We finished school, definitely not A* students but at least we've picked up some of the basics to help us on our way :)
