Has it really only been two weeks since we left? Well not too much has happened this week. The free camp at Ellenborough Reserve was an interesting one. There appeared to be a few campers who all knew each other and at night they had a karaoke set up. Now for those that know we well, know that I never pass up a karaoke.challenge, however I did that night. Maybe it was too early in the trip or that their songs were crap - who knows but it didn’t entice me at all. Ha ha.
Catching up with Dad and Robyn in Port Macquarie was lovely. We had a great feed of prawns at Laurieron while Robyn was line dancing. Dad took us up to the top of North Brother and the view was spectacular. After helping the Port Macquarie economy, we headed north 114 km to Scott’s Head. The caravan park doesn’t have unpowered sites so it was pretty pricey at $47 pn but such a great location. Right on the beach. The downside was that it was school holidays and they packed us in like sardines. Lucky we are a fairly small footprint. The photo shows camping sardine style. The water temp was beautiful for swimming. Due to the cost we decided to stay only for 2 nights and headed 117km further up the coast to Red Rock - north of Coffs Harbour. Unpowered sites $32 in school holidays. It’s almost like bush camping - without the campfire.
So we are here for another couple of nights then starting to head inland for some National Park camping and bush walks.
