Stretching the legs along Surfers Paradise's premier beach - bloody beautiful!

We arrived about 9pm and immediately set up camp. I decided to try something a bit different with the sleeping arrangements. This trip I used a camp stretcher and mozzie net. The night was quite still and not a mozzie to be found so I soon opted out of the mozzie net and decided to sleep in my sleeping bag "out in the open". We soon had a fire cranked and it wasnt long before we settled in to deep conversation. This ultimately lead to the DVD play...

Up at 4.40am to arrive at start of Munda Biddi Trail to meet Cam at 6.00am. Left his car at Brookton Hwy end and drove my car plus bikes to Kingsmill Rd (Pickering Brook) to commence our one way ride. We rode to the Carinya Campsite for a trangia-cooked breakfast (see video). Had a slight stack - not much blood - pride damaged more than anything. All in all - 18km ride on a fresh morning. After heading through Dwellingup, we took the Nanga Rd, past the old mill site to Dawn Creek Rd. The 3.7km drive to Jarrah form takes us to a parking area and intersection point of the Munda Biddi Trail, King Jarrah Walk and 4WD tracks - Capt Fawcett and Nanga Heritage. We rode our mountain bikes to Nanga and then walked the King Jarrah Track back to our cars to complete the loop. Later we headed to Tony's Bend camp ground and walked up to the Swamp Oak Bibbul...

Took our exchange student down to Donnelly River Village for the weekend to get a taste of typcial aussie animals. We were not disappointed - emus, kangaroos, possums and parrots all came to see us and it was easy to hand feed them all. Later we took off for a swim in the dam, then a fish at nearby Glenoran Pool - via the Donnelly Driver scenic route.
