For a while, it felt like the Groundhog Day as we travel between three countries back and forth between a Friday and a Saturday.
Aukland opened her pretty streets to our tired feet on the early hours of a sunny Friday. It was good for the soul after leaving Tahiti behind. We enjoyed the cold dry moustiques free air.
Thanks to the kind lady with the bright pink hair at the airport, we were able to map out our 10 hours in Aukland. The fast bus linked us to the loakers at the ferry, leaving us free and light as birds. We followed her advices to the Domain Park where we found the famous climbing tree which became Maxim and Callum's personal spaceship for a few hours. We even made it to the museum. It confirmed again how close the Maori culture is the the Maohi culture in Tahiti, from the language to the artefacts. We went back to the airport well feed, well exercised ready for the next leg of the journey. LA, here we come.
We started to like California as soon as we touched down at LAX, in our very comfortable black, or should I say all black airplane. People here seem naturally kind and happy to help. Well they give a very good first impression I am getting hooked on the big smilling 'have a good day' with that accent that makes us feel as if we were on a movie set.
I thought that the hotel had exagerated a bit on their web site but no, they really are right in front of the Disneyland park entrance. This means that we could enjoy a fabulous firework on the week end as we were catching up on sleep, rest and homework, along with dips in the pool and walks to Down Town Disney to give us a foretaste of things to come.
Today was the first of three days at Disneyland. It is so busy in there that there are tuitions on the net to make the most of both Disney and california parks. The reading came handy. At nine on the dot, we were on the starting blocks, followed by the hundreds who read the same instructions. Tomorrowland, Stars Wars 3D, the Space mountains were in front of us, ready for the stanpede, quick, one ride booked while in the queue for another...and so on. There really is a knack to it.
We spent nine hours in the parks and have only seen a third of them...We have walked through haunted houses and fairy forests, flown through whole galaxies and over California. We have gone on trains zooming through canyons, screamed on top of huge rollercoasters...We have been up and down and upside down and shaken all about, we are sore footed and dizzy and ready, oh so ready for more of the same, tomorrow.
