Maybe we were somewhat pampered by the amazing beaches we'd seen on our trip but Lombok didn't seem anything too special as far as black sand beaches go. The waves were pretty ferocious meaning we couldn't swim without fighting for your life on each occasion. All worked to our advantage I guess because we had some gorgeously chilled out afternoons sat on the bungalow patio reading and writing in our cook books. I now have a few recipes in my baking book to attempt when we arrive in Australia.
Breakfast in the morning was a pleasant affair (apparently this is a very English saying that we all use regularly, so there you have it). Pancakes and tea on the patio outside the bungalow in our PJs in the intense Lombok sun! Couldn't quite believe how ferocious this equatorial heat actually was. We were in the shade for pretty much the rest of the day. Fruit smoothies help with the heat overload every so often! Banana and avocado is a particular fave at the moment.
You might say it was pretty good to get this far without loosing our debit cards but it was pretty infuriating when the ATM machine ate it! Actually I was pretty relaxed in fact almost asleep! I was in the middle of my first ever facial while Bryn popped to get some money (cor that sounds like he's my slave! Get some money while I have a pampering!)
Finally managed to find and invest in some more fuel for the stove so we're cooking for ourselves again at last when we arrive on the Gillis!
Love Jo x
