Ol n' Ben around the world
Wake up at 7:15. The sky is blue. Another awesome visiting day ?
After a delicious breakfast, we leave Grundarfjördur at 8:45 towards Snaefelljökull, the famous volcano which inspired Jules Verne to write his novel "Voyage au centre de la Terre" (Journey to the Center of the Earth). The scenic road along the sea is beautiful and once again, we are very lucky since the top of the volcano is very clear.
To approach it closer, we take a track which literally climbs it. We make several stops on the way up in order to enjoy the view.
We finally reach the mountain pass where we leave the trailer. The slope is indeed very steep to reach the top of the mountain. Once up there, we are very close to the glacier, we can even see several blue cracks all over it.
The 360 degrees scenery is absolutely breathtaking ! The sky is so clear we can see tens of kilometers away !
