Day 47: Ihla Grande We decided to cut our losses with Paraty and try to get the most out of our next destination: Ihla Grande. We needed to get a bus up the coast and from there a ferry to the island, all of which would take about three hours. But ferrys were limited so we needed to time it carefully. Day 46: Paraty I don't think Paraty really liked us... Firstly the faff trying to get here from São Paulo and then once we got here nothing went to plan. We booked a boat trip (that served limitless caipirinhas!) around the islands... the morning we were to set off, the boat was broken. We went to find a beautiful hippy beach that everyone was raving about... we couldn't find it and then got chased by dogs. We planned to go for a walking tour through the town......

Day 45: Ubatuba to Paraty I woke to the sound of waves crashing on the sand. We had arrived into Ubatuba in the pitch black, and the first time I saw it was at the first light of day and it was stunning. And so unexpected! Ubatuba had not been part of the original itinerary. Day 44: São Paulo to Ubatuba Lynn loves her walking tours, so she does. And we loved the down town São Paulo walking tour so much, we decided to do the Vila Madalena walking tour the next day. Day 43: Sao Paulo After a heavy night, we scraped ourselves out of bed and with Eva and Daniel, got an Uber downtown to join the free walking tour. The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day and I think I was still drunk.
