So, I finally made it to Arizona. After a 10 and a half hour flight with our lovely BA, I landed at Sky Harbor (excuse the American spelling...... when in Rome). And after some intense US immigration, I entered the country (legally). It has been pretty hot so far, hitting 38 yesterday (thats 100 for you farenheit fans).
Jensen, a.k.a. Sensei, had his graduation party on the first night. So beer and Tequilla was the order of the evening, coupled with some bean-bag games and late night swimming. It was a fun evening, and I met one of Jensen's friends who will also be working at camp this summer, so that was nice. The following morning was not so enjoyable but let us skip past that.
Errands were the priority yesterday, having had my bank card blocked and my guitar left in England. So I headed to the bank, check. I went to a music store and bought a guitar, check. The guitar is an Ibanez AW35R, and it is a dream to play. I also bought a hard case so it will be well protected.
Last night was another graduation party (they seem to be had for everyone so you get to go to about 15 of them if you have friends). Tonight will make it 3 in 3, so lots of new people to meet and tell my story to.
All in all it has been a good start to my summer. We leave tomorrow so we are going to make a list of stuff that we need today and get all sorted before then. I am going on a run now, the first of many I hope. 6 miles around the boring grid system that makes up most of US suburbia, in 30 degrees, we'll see how it goes.
Until next time
