So our adventure officially started on Saturday the 30th of August. Let me tell you, that last week in Edmonton was insane. Finishing work, writing the thesis (which I waited the last two weeks before starting to write), packing, and getting stuff completed for the Venezuela internship....Tina and I hadn't even seen each other for a good month, and Tina was busy doing her own thing: getting rid of two years worth of stuff accumulated in Canada, finishing work, getting stuff done for the Venezuelan internship etc.
That Friday morning I finished writing my thesis, sent it to my professor and went to work. Came back from work and wrote my bibliography and sent it. Brought back my books to the library, picked up copious amounts of wine (really expensive, complements of Steven-thanks Steven) and spent the rest of the night drinking and packing (this seems to have become a tradition over time).
It was a great night, and although I was definitely sleep deprived, I got everything done. The next morning, Tina came and the car was packed! We went for some delicious breakfast with some friends and then we drove out of Edmonton and never looked back!
Our itinerary: From Edmonton, AB, to High Rolls, New Mexico.
The drive through Alberta was pretty smooth and pretty much, we were just happy to be going somewhere and to be getting out of Edmonton (wonderful city though it was, we were just ready to move on to other things).
