It had stopped raining and while still cold the wind had eased and an orderly exit saw the rally move out as the early morning mist cleared. We motored out of Ystad just after 0700 into a slight chop with some residual swell.
Our route really just followed the coast around to the east and then northwards watching the soft rural landscape pass by with a few small harbours and villages on the shoreline.
By 1000 we were leading the flotilla and the others, with two exceptions, were lost in the haze way behind us. We could still track most on AIS but only those so equipped and we passed a handful of boats coming the other way. As our next port was full the night before we guessed the majority were heading Stockholm way.
By 1100 we were entering the harbour of Simrishamn and turning promptly to starboard we entered the marina and took a berth next to "Gillaitt" who had left the CA group afternoon before.
This pretty little town was warm, what a delightful change, and the pontoon quickly filled with the sixteen rally boats with the smallest ones being only an hour behind us. We are night stopping here and going on to Kalrskrona tomorrow, some are stopping midway to visit Hano or Tarno, small islands off the coast, but we will do that on the way back, meanwhile we will get tucked up and safe before the winds blow on Friday - or so the forecast says??
