Once again a leisurely departure from Enkhuizen and almost immediately into an open lock for the small rise into the Markemeer. Once out it was fairly shallow outside the buoyed channel so we sailed slowly for a while in a light breeze of no more than 7kn from the east. Gradually this faded and backed so on went the engine to make our passage.
The approach to Muiden took us off to the east and then across some deep water into the pretty river where J&J waved enthusiastically gesturing to a berth alongside the lovely "Jabulani", our first sight of her in real life!
Our crossing of 20nm was easy, the weather was bight, sunny and very warm and we had booked three nights in the lovely little place with boats of all shapes and sizes occupying every space in water and onshore.
From here we will pass through Amsterdam and then using the "Standing Mast Day Time Route" will make our way to Gouda via Harlem.
