Hangover, Whiplash and Oversleeping are my first feelings in Queenstown!
I was only in Christchurch for a night, but I sure experienced it! One of Jo's friends Zhaine now lives in Christchurch and I met him in New Plymouth last time I was visiting Jo, so Zhaine decided he and his boss were going to show me a good time in Christchurch. We started off in a sports bar playing pool and drinking 2 litre jugs of Tui, my intentions of an early night were soon out of the window. We decided to head into town and go to a karaoke bar where the drinking continued, jagerbombs came out and so did the bucking bronco, yes there was one of those mechanical bull things in the karaoke bar and of course we had to have a go. lol To be honest I really have no clue what time I stumbled back into hostel, all I know is that I woke up at 7.38am and my bus was leaving at 7.45am! You have never seen me move so fast in my life.... I was up out and packed in 3 mins and sprinted out of the hostel and down the road to the bus which luckily hadn't left yet. I did get told off my the driver saying that they dont wait for people I was lucky that he hadn't left already. Naughty me hey?! lol
Well the bus trip was hell, the bus was full and it was a 7 and a half hour trip which is not the best when you are hungover. I got to Queenstown at 3.15pm and checked into the hostel at which point I was noticing that my neck was stiffening up big style.... that was strange I thought as I hadn't even done my bungee yet. I knew that after the bungee I would have whiplash for sure, but turns out that I must have given myself whiplash from falling off that bucking bronco. :( So I had a very uncomfortable nights sleep and another early start in the morning.
Yesterday I got up early and went to Milford Sound, perhaps one of NZ's most famous spots. It was a 5.5 hour drove there with stops, a 2 hour cruise and the 4.5 hour drive back.... a long day but very worth it, although have to admit I was strongly considering taking scenic flight back, but at $250 and as a budget traveller that was a bit unrealistic! It was an awesome experience though, fantastic sights and despite not seeing dolphins we did see heaps of seals.
Today my whiplash has almost gone, however that will soon change in a few hours when I throw myself off a bridge! Yes today is the day that I do my bungee and I am so scared that I feel sick. No backing out now though as it's all paid for so wish me luck everyone, hopefully I survive to tell the tale and head to the Glaciers tomorrow!
