We did a 'freedom camp' at the side of the road near Arthurs Pass. Unfortunately, we picked a spot where the black flies congregate for supper, which turned out to be us! Great view of the mountains, with SNOW on the tops - remember that?! Nice not to have to pay anything! but we have to watch the temperature of the fridge, which goes down fast when the van isnt plugged in.
Yesterday drove to Arthurs Pass, and watched the Keas. Unfortunately Bernie got a bit too close and got pecked! Then a long and monotonous drive through the deeply boring Canterbury Plains to Fairlie! Staying two nights in a motel, nice to have a bit of comfort for a change, and the motel is very well thought out.......and cheap!
The pre-wedding meal in Fairlie was excellent. 25 people there. We had rain almost all day yesterday, a bit better this morning, so hoping it stays fine for the wedding in a couple of hours.
No Paul, havent noticed any sundials on our travels, but I'll keep looking!
Hoping to try and put on some pictures at Angies, no doubt her computer hasn't been spiked! xx
