We woke up, put on our best clothes, and spent our Sunday morning attending mass in the beautiful Greek cathedral at the top of the hill.
By the time mass had finished, we were starving so we went down to a place called Mama's house where we were greeted by an extremely boisterous woman (mama) who immediately made us feel at home and made sure we were well fed (and provided the best hot choc!).
After this, we changed out of our church clothes into something more comfortable so we could spend a few hours in the sun just wandering around the island. Of course, after building up enough of an appetite, we stopped in for our daily delicious gyros from the same bustling place.
With full bellies and sore feet, we made our way back down the millions of stairs (ok maybe I'm exaggerating a little) to our hotel so we could watch the Valencia F1 race (actually only one of us watched while the other one read and napped).
After the race was over we were able to get back to our holiday, so we climbed back up a million steps and rented ourselves a little quad-bike for the rest of the day. We put on our dorky helmets and sped off towards Oia where we checked out the shops and watched an amazing sunset. The ride home was interesting as we had to keep our sunnies on to protect them from the dirt and wind, but there were no street lights and a couple hundred metre drop off the edge of the winding road into the rocks and sea below! Obviously, we made it back safely (thanks to some excellent driving) and stopped for our last Greek dinner at a place recommended by a local. We enjoyed some tzatziki, stuffed zucchini and lamb souvlaki before calling it a night.
