Chrissy's birthday picnic 2013

The country girls came through town to gather me up and roll on to McKinney Falls last Sunday. We had a bright and cool day for our celebration and found a spot overlooking the falls. Though he falls were technically not falling, there was plenty of clear water in the creek.

Diana, Marty, Chrissy, and I shared a tasty feast including Marty's biscuits, my farro salad a la Lacy, Chrissy's chicken pâté, and Diana's yummy chicken salad a la central mkt. the piece de resistance was Diana's lacy chocolate cookies that had become a little melty in the sun. They left chocolate smudges on fingers and faces....perfection!

After lunch, we struck off down a trail in search of local ruins, Stevie Ray looking for edible wildlife. Oops. Wrong trail, we turned around and struck off again. Lovely walk and talk. A log full of turtles sunning near the bank. No ruins were found, prompting us to plan a return visit. Happy birthday Chrissy!
