We arrive in Vegas and check in to our hotel, The Mirage. It´s mine and Laura´s first time in Vegas so we head straight out for a walk along the strip and some brunch. We stop at the Cosmopolitan Hotel for food and some drinks in a restaurant called "Holsteins" where the waitresses are dressed in tiny tiny shorts and tight tops. To being our weekend we order a mountain of food and some bucks fizz. Vegas is like no other place on earth. I´d heard a lot about it but couldn´t really picture it. I`m really surprised you can walk down the street with alcoholic drinks. I thought Americans were far more square - then again this is Vegas! After lunch we continue our walk up to Luxor which is pretty much the end of the strip. Luxor is a horrible hotel - very pleased we aren´t staying there. Although the strip isn´t long, it takes an age to get anywhere. We have to head back to our hotel as Laura and I have a helicopter ride over the grand canyon booked at 3.30pm. The helicopter ride is amazing but I spent the entire flight worrying we were going to drop out of the sky at any moment. The pilot was very relaxed which put me at some ease. Laura and I got to ride in the front with the pilot. It really was an amazing experience. For our first night in Vegas we make the most of the free entry and drinks we´d been offered throughout the day and head to our hotel club, 1 Oak, first. We literally spend 20mins in there. Just enought time to down our freebies and hop in a cab to Light club to see the DJ Skrillex. Amazingly and thanks to Odette we find ourselve in a VIP area right in front of the stage. The party of people don´t mind us being there and feed us bubbles for the rest of the night. Result! We arrive back at the hotel at 4am when Odette insists on gambling - and loses - and we find an open bar for a night cap. What a first night!! The following day I sleep of my hangover alllll day. Od and Laura make it down to the pool and return later afternoon for a nap. We head out for dinner at the Paris hotel. We eat steak and drink some very nice red wine. After dinner we head to the Monte Carlo hotel for some gambling but on the way we end up in a bar where girls pay $20 for drink-as-much-as-you-want. The cocktails are pretty nasty and this offer doesn´t include Jack Daniels!! We stomach two drinks and leave pretty sharpe. Once at the Monte Carlo hotel we play the roulette wheel. I come away $3 up! The final day we spend by the hotel pool. It´s packed full of young and old enjoying the sun, cocktails and music. Our flight to LA is at 4.55pm so we can´t spend all day there. Pity. But it´s a great way to end our weekend. Next stop La La Land.
