We are staying in the HI in Santa Monica. We arrived quite late so check in and head out for food. We end up in a Thai restaurant which is a refreshing change from the American food we had been eating. The following day we take a public bus to Beverlyhills. On the bus a super friendly guy called Charles Walker. He helps us with which bus stop we need and generally wont stop talking the entire ride. He is really nice though so we couldnt be rude and ignore him. He said we stood out as tourists because of our map and the fact the we were riding at the back of the bus. We assumed he meant white locals dont normally travel at the back of the bus. Once off the bus we take a walk along Wilshire and Rodao Drive. We also see the hotel in pretty women but dont go in as we are lookkng like real backpackers.

Next we head to Hollywoody and what a horrible place that is. After taking the usual hall of fame photos we head to Hooters for lunch. I stupidly thought that being such as big chain, Hooters food would be ok. Man was i wrong. All of it was fried and nasty. After Hooters we hopped on a bus to Downtown. This quick bus ride ended up taking us over an hour, what a bore. But we did see some interesting people along the way. I can see why they call it LALA Land!!! We spend all of 2 hrs in Downtown before jumping on the metro back to Santa Monica. After just one day we are all looking forward to leaving LA and decide to book a hire car and drive to San Diego the next day. We watch the sunset on Santa Monica beach and take some great snaps. My gal pals make LA enjoyable :)
