Hi Everyone

Well we arrived in Bangkok in the early hours and managed to get a room no problems. Basic room with a double bed and a fan but its better than hostels. It is extremely hot here in Bangkok and i think because it is such a busy city it makes it worse as there are so many car fumes and no breeze.

Yesterday we just walked aroung KhaoSan Road, which is the major backpacker road, and bought a few vest tops and shorts, i bought a new bikini and Ant bought some fake Billabong shorts. Clothes, food, beer and fruit are all very cheap here so i can see why so many backpackers come here, but i don't think we'd stay here much longer.

We walked to see the Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace today, we were both very hot and when we got there we had to wear some clothes they borrowed us to cover our ankles and me, my chest. I took a few photos of the Wat Phra Kaew (which is a buddhist temple where there is an Emerald Buddha inside) but we were both too hot and we didn't have enough money to pay to get inside the place so we left and walked back to near our hostel again.

Maybe we're not in the right mood or something but we're not getting the big hype of Bangkok, its very very hot, very smoggy, and very busy. I think we will be both glad to leave tomorrow and head down to a beach island. We know it will be hot here but we can relax in the sea or go on our balcony of our hut. There's not much to do in Bangkok other than get drunk on the very cheap beer, and its too hot for that!

We are getting anovernight bus tomorrow night down to Surat Thani, we should arrive there in the morning and we are then getting a ferry over to Kho Phangnan where we have got a beach hut booked. Check it out at
