Natalie's adventures
Just to let you all know, I've arrived safely in Sydney. I caught the Greyhound from Canberra yesterday afternoon and arrived in Sydney at 7.30pm. Luckily it was only a short walk to my hostel. I'm staying at the YHA at Central station. I am litrally sleeping in the station!! The YHA is built in the old goods in shed in the station and I'm sleeping in an old train carriage. I did book it for the novelty value although I wasn't banking on the tanoy announcements and the trains pulling in next to the carriage I'm sleeping in!!! The noise took some getting used to last night but I fell asleep eventually. I looked out of my window this morning and there were people waiting to board their train staring back at me!!
I went on a quick sight seeing trip today. I can still remember my way around the city from three years ago, its almost like I've never been away from the place. I went on a jet boat ride around the harbour, something I wanted to do the last time I was here but couldn't afford. It was fantastic. It was a beautiful day today (around 18 degrees, not bad for a winters day) and what better way to see the harbour than at 80km an hour with water spraying in your face. I was soaked!!! I can't wait to get Mum on a jet boat in NZ!!! I also went into the Opera House for the first time and did the tour. Also something I didn't get done last time in Oz.
I'm moving to a different hostel for Friday night and Saturday night, also a YHA and just on the next block. Its also next to the station but not part of it so I should have two nights without hearing "the next train to Penrith is leaving from platform 12".
For all those of you who know Sam, I'm seeing him tomorrow. he is going to take me out for the day, possibley to the beach where they film Home and Away.
