We were picked up at our hotel at 8am by the Beachcomber bus. We were heading to Beachcomber Island for 5 nights. The bus took us to Port Denaru where we boarded a Catamaran for the sail out to the Island. We sailed for around 40 minutes then had to climb aboard smaller boats as the Catamaran was too big to get in close enough to the beach for us to get off. We were able to check in at 10am but couldn't get our bags untill 11.30 so we sat on the beach and waited. One of the guys (Moe) who worked for the diving company on the Island was worried that we were going to get sunburnt so he made us sit under his umbrella with him. We were in an 84 bed dorm room which is the biggest dorm I've ever stayed in!! Meals are included in the price on Beachcomber so we had lunch before spending the rest of the afternoon on the beach, catching some sun and having a swim. We got chatting to a group of Kiwis and joined them for dinner then drinks in the bar. The evening started with the resort band then DJ Foxy took over and made people do the Bula dance (a bit like the Macarena). After that it was time for the crab racing. Emma and I went halfs on the Welsh crab in the crab auction but when it came to the race, our crab went absolutley nowhere which was a disappointment!!! After the crab race we had music till 12.30am and then the bar closed.

I made it to my bed at around 3.30am. Once the bar had closed, someonde had produced a bottle of vodka which I had kindky helped them to drink!! I somehow managed to make it to breakfast then it was time to head out onto the beach. Emma had the sense to get us an umbrella and we sat with Mel, Mark, James and Dave (the Kiwis we had met yesterday). I had agreed to go snorkelling so we headed out on one of the snorkelling trips. I got as far as jumping into the water before I decided that I didn't feel comfortable in the water so climbed back aboard the boat (cutting my knee and elbow in the process). I sat on the boat chatting to the boat guy while everyone else played with the fishes!! After lunch I went on the fish feeding trip then went parasailing with Emma. We did a tandem parasail and I was in charge of steering the parachute when we came in to land. Emma screamed with excitement the whole time we were in the air!!!! We landed in the sea and I managed to hurt my foot on a rock. I sat and watched a staff game of touch rugby. It was one of the most enjoyable games I've ever watched. Most of the male staff members were involved and it was just really funny to watch all the cheating and the sly tackles and to see everyone enjoying themselves so much. After dinner I went to the bar with Emma. The evenings entertainment was Limbo dancing and a group of Taihitian dancers.
