Barossa Valley, South Australia
We used these couple of days in the Barossa, to really chill and relax, although we did drive about 45 minutes north to Kapunda on the day we arrived. This is an old mining town, established in 1839. Apparently the huge copper mine that began here in 1842 kept the entire colony afloat until 1878, due to the pureness of the copper. On the outskirts of town is a 7 metre bronze statue of "Map the Miner" or “Map Kernow” – Son of Cornwall. ...
