Alreet???

Country number 5, our passports are looking a little healthier than when we left the Toon.

We got the bus from Koh Samui at stupid o'clock in the morning, and didn't get to Malaysia until late afternoon. So you can understand we were a bit Hungry and tired, but i don't think if we were fresh as daisys it would have changed our opinions on Georgetown. There was nothing there, it was a bit dirty and we had to walk about 7 mile for a cashpoint. Plus the Bunk bed we were in squeaked everytime you turned over (in my case alot) We had a reasonable Indians that night though, the chicken was rancid but the nan bread was canny. So after a few beers with an old guy from Fenham who tried to get us to stay at his mates place in Langkawi, we decided to head to Langkawi the next day, or so we thought???

Up bright and early again the next day to catch the only Ferry to Langkawi, actually there is 2 but they go at 8 and Half 8, so if you miss the 8 one by half an hour your still screwed, we know. So we got our tickets and went and sat in the 'Departure lounge', when the ferry started boarding for Indonesia we thought we may have had a problem, so even though we were sat in front of a sign saying Boarding gate for Langkawi we were still in the wrong place. We got to the right place to a lack of ferry's, yep we missed it. Luckily the lass just transfered our tickets to the next day, and we just headed for Batu Ferringhi, The beach. We found a nice little place on the beach to stay that night, and after a small kip we hit the beach, which was heaven compared to Georgetown. The beach was nice, but the town was dead, the bars had no one in them, either did the reststaurants, the other westenern we seen looked sick as Parrots.

So the next day we headed for Langkawi, no need for an Alarm, The Mosque opposite woke us up at stupid o'clock. But lets hope Langkawi is slightly bettre as Penang hasn't been the Best start to Malasyia.
