So here we are, at last, in Brazil. Seen from a car window, it seems very much like Italy. Some differences what so ever, have already been found.
We got here yesterday evening, and found the hostel we booked was the right choise. It is very homie, very relaxed and everybody seems to be like a big family. We havent hanged around much in two; there was a party waiting for us when we got here, so we made friends straight away with other fellow travelers. Even though we were dirty as such after the travel, and also very tired, we ended up in a jazz bar with our new friends from the guesthouse. The taxi way there was an adventure; the driver had no idea of where he was driving and stopped several times to ask people on the streets for help. We squeezed ourselves to be five in the taxi, and almost hit a person who was crossing the street. Anyway, the place was fun and it was a good kick start for the journey. We overslept today, and went to book the bus tickets for Rio, so we are staying one night more in Sao Paulo and in this nice hostel. Something more about Brazil... The shower is suprising, Sigrun was boiled alive today and I got the cold version later on. The toilets dont work, and the paper must always be thrown at the basket next to it. I start fancying the italian bagno turco already. Food is great, and people really nice. Almost no one speaks english, spanish or anything else except portuguese, but thing seems to organize still very well; people are not troubled by the fact we dont speak their language and make their best to communicate anyway, and two times have just random people ran to help us and been interpreters. So... everything good in other part of the world, kisses, hugs and all the best to everybody at home from both of us!!!
