Sunday 08th November:
Our last day in Hanoi before venturing onto Hue, we are booked on the night sleeper bus at 5.30pm - We ventured out that morning and we managed to get acosted by 3 women selling fruit in those funny hammock holders (not quite sure what the technical term is!!) , so straight away they put the hammock onto T, complete with their hats, (T looked like an authentic vietnamese!!!!) , R also go acosted by a guy who was selling books and postcards, he was vey sweet, so R tol him she would look after we had lunch- we managed to escape them but not before being badgered into buying bunches of Banana's and Pineapple - we were stung!!they must have seen us coming! Anyway managed to get away and have abit to eat, must have been a good hour or so after we had eaten, we came out of the cafe, and there was the Guy still waiting for R to buy some of his postcards / books - then he started asking "why you have no boyfriend?", and "do you want to marry a Vietnmese man?" - ha ha I think that might be the soft sell approach maybe!! Anyway 5 Postcards later we were on our way!!!
After being stung that morning we decided to do a bit of sightseeing in a sitlow (they can't accost you in these) so for an hour or so we went around the city of Hanoi, (my god it was a scary experience, but all for the bargain price of 40,000.00!! we arrived back at the Cozy Hotel, just in time to have a coffee before being collected and taken to the bus station - ok so this coach looks far better, than the last one, as it was an overnight journey, we had a bed on this one, we met a couple of girls that had come from Halong Bay that day so got chatting, we all ended up at the back of the coach which was like a giant bed - Now this is far bettter, the only problem with this one, is that toilet had a hole in the floor and didn't really work properly - ah bit of an issue!!! Neither of RAT ventured to the toilet so for 13 hours solid - the time it took to get from Hanoi to Hue we were holding our bladders like crazy!!! and the bus didn't stop once!!!! We were feeling very tired and achey by the time we had got to Hue, and you guessed abso desparate for a weee!!! Anyway we were collected from the station and taken to our guest house, it was very nice and the first port of call after a wee was foood!!!! To be honest not too much to say about Hue, very pretty town and we did have a little trip in a sitlow for a couple of hours, and visited the Pagoda and a few other places, but to be honest nothing really stood out and we felt a couple of days was enough here!! We moved onto Hoi An - which took about 4hours to get to!! It was very hot, and bus didn't really have air con, well not that was working anyway!!
