Ok guys, on this very slow computer i am trying to let you all know what i have been up to. If it crashes (again) i will give up!!!
So i came into Nairobi and went straight to the camp in Karen, and then straight to the bar. When i was there i actually met a couple who lived in Westcliffe (small world!!) and heard some extremely scary stories about the Congo, involving machine guns, people stealing their trucks, and all their stuff. So after being assured that the route i was taking was safe!!! (Dont panic mum im not going there or Zimbabwe!!!)
So the next day was the first day with all the tour group, who are all fab and seem really nice, im very lucky to have such an amazing group!! We had a bit of a long drive to arrive in Arusha but i did see mount kilimanjaro which was amazing! and am staying at the snake pit camp at present. The first night there was brilliant and i got to know all the group quite well. Unfortunatly because i called the truck a bus the driver Pat made me drink... a lot!!! But lesson learnt and i wont be doing that again!!! We are def in a truck!
Yesterday i got to go to the most beautiful place i have ever been!!! It is called the Ngorongoro crater which is in fact a caldera which is a sunken volcano. On the way there we had to pull over the jeep to let 3 giraffe cross the road, and then some zebra (i actually got to see a proper zebra crossing!!!) The crater holds a lot of animals and as we headed down the edge of the crater we had a chance to see Zebra, gazelle, lion, wilderbeast, rhino, elephant, falmingo, hippo, and hyena (i really cant spell that word!) It was a really amazing but quite surreal place. As the day went on you could see the clouds drift over the top of the crater and it looked like a cloud water fall!!!
The worst thing that has happened to me so far is i have been pretty ill, think its the water round here but im not entirely sure yet, im drinking the very expensive bottled water to see if that makes a difference, but i can tell you now, its not the best feeling in the world!!! However i am starting to perk up so again mother dont worry about me!!! Dont think im gonna be able to be in touch that much, and prob wont be able to put any pics on here without the computers crashing, but ill try again at the next chance i get.
Heading to Zanzibar in a couple of days which i am really looking forward to, white sandy beaches and timeless towns ive been told, so i cant wait.
Missing you all greatly, im sure i will hear from some of you quite soon.
Have a good day. xx
