October 13th Up early pack up the tents and a 250km truck ride to Dar El Salam past more poverty, although some places were starting to show signs of some wealth (all comparative though!). October 8th An early rise and pack away the tents, then the truck, oh the truck! Our home for the month - a rattling mishmash of metal and camping equipment (see photos), which we would come to love... one day. A 350km drive later, with roughly the same number of pot holes, lunch on the road side and we finally arrived in the Serengeti and the Snake Park Campsite in Aruba. October 4th Having been briefed on the mugging free zones Nairobi has to offer, we ventured out beyond the confines (and safety) of Hotel Boulevard. Known on the circuit as Nairobbery, we felt brave enough to try the city Central Park, a few main shopping streets and even managed to negotiate some lunch, but nothing else!.
