ok so i dont care what other peole think... Agra is absolutly beautiful
after a groolling 6hr jeep ride we first arrive at Fathehpur Sikri about 40kms west of agra its a beautiful fortified ghost city and was the short lived capital of the Mughal empire between 1571-1585. after that we grabbed a bit to eat which had an interesting moment we asked our driver to join us in the AC part of the restaurant but the owner would not let him cos he was a from a lower caste..... it makes u realise how real this system still is and how can affect people.
after lunck we headed to the Taj which we didnt realise was closed on fridays so the ended up going to Agra fort which was another magnificent fort with a gorgeous view of teh Taj at sun set.....
here we said good by the prof. cory and his wife lana and found a hotel in TAJ Gang area around teh taj great hotel highly recommend for location and helpful staff "hotel shahjahan"... and had great views of the TAj on there roof top restuant and lounge.
next morning we headed to the Taj and i have to say word can not express how grand and beautiful it is.....the artisity and the colours and detail are magnificcent... aafter wondering the gardens for a while we headed to the Baby Taj which is not as big much has greater detail in its marbel carvings and inlays.... then day continues to Arkbar's tomb and i tell u these mughals had ego's cos this place was huge and just for a tomb.....
there's a lot of artist in agra showing off there work the mabel work particular the carving and semi-precious stone inlay is beautiful but expensive people in agra are great i hink its because there used to tourists.... they dont bug u half as much as every where else and know when to stop so far tis has been my favourite city...
